Itinerary:
Dates: February 24-26

Friday, February 24th:
This course starts at 9 AM on Friday* where the group will dive right into JTree climbing. Today is about mileage and a scene size up. What is this area about? What’s the climbing style? Where do I find the Jtree wonder? What is the average wingspan of that Dark-Eyed Junco yonder? These questions we will try and answer these over this day so we can

Soulstainable teams up with Mojave Mountain guides to cover all the basics and assess your climbing needs over the coming days.

At 5 PM, the group departs for an evening dinner in the park’s ambiance and some excellent sleep in the Desert. The ambiance we set up in the desert is unmatched. A cozy nook in the middle of the oasis is arguably the most enjoyable part of the experience.

Saturday, February 25th:
Wake up in the beautiful Mojave Desert!
After a light stretch, the team takes an hour or two to converse with the National Park Service over coffee and help them with a light and fun task before climbing. It always feels good to give back to these places we often overlook helping.

After we meet with the NPS, the gang will embark on the rock around 11 AM. Today is about diving into the Trad climbing Workshop.

Ground School:
Trad Protection
Placement
Climbing Technique
Gear Anchors

Push yourself, and you’ll be rewarded with stunning views overlooking this otherworldly landscape. After a full day of climbing, we’ll head back to the campground to smash a feed and have a fire. We will hang out for the rest of the evening under the winter stars getting to know the team and swapping stories.

Sunday, February 26th:
Early to rise for coffee, some breakky, and a light stretch to start the day.

Today we wrap up our clinic and finish the lessons of the day.

In the afternoon, the group will explore the talas caves of JTree. Hike and crawl your way through the underground passages of this unique national park! This is a rare way to see the park and move through its specialized landscapes. This trip ends at 4:30 pm, so you’ll have plenty of time to make it home at a reasonable hour to share stories of your lessons and experiences with the ones you love.
