Dates: April 14-16 2023
Friday, April 14th:
This course starts on Friday, April 13th, as we dive into this truly amazing landscape. This workshop is all about the crack climbing technique. These techniques help round out your climbing movement repertoire. Mileage and crack climbing style critique are the goals for day one….Also, the red Desert!!
After our course, the group heads to our magnificent campsite overlooking the canyon and lands NP Island in the sky. We enjoy the first night in the desert and talk about our day over a fire with warm food and hot drinks!
Saturday, April 15th:
Wake up in the beautiful desert!
After a light stretch, the team takes an hour or two to converse on the complex issues of land use in this delicate area over coffee and help them with a light and fun task before climbing. This is an amazing part of the world and the use has been exemplified over the past three decads to the point where the situation has become increasingly delicate. Hopefully these conversations will continue throughout the climbing day.
The goal is to get on rock by 10 oclock! This course is strictly limited to climbing movement and crack climbing techniques.
We will dive into:
Push yourself, and you’ll be rewarded with stunning views overlooking this otherworldly landscape. After a full day of climbing, we’ll head back to the campground to smash a feed and have a fire. We will hang out for the rest of the evening under the spring time stars getting to know the team and swapping stories.
Sunday, April 16th:
Early to rise for coffee, some breakky, and a light stretch to start the day.
Today we wrap up our climbing course and finish the lessons of the day.
We get it all out during our final session. Work on feedback given from days prior and get the final burn-in before our trek home. The course ends at 4 pm as we send off on bittersweet goodbyes and fond memories of this amazing landscape.
